Welcome to my site, my name is John and I have been lucky enough to work in horticultural nurseries for over 15 years in the UK. Overall, these are well worth considering and there probably some of the most affordable leaf grabbers while not being as cheaply made as some of the Chinese plastic alternatives I’ve come across. There are convenient rubber grips on the end of the poles for your comfort – you grab along the poles somewhere that suits you. Simply put the leaves in a black bin liner, moisten them if they are dry, and make some holes in the plastic with a garden fork.

We have been using the Darlac Grab n Lift for a few years now and find it to be a brilliant piece of kit. They easily grab a large amount of leaves without bending over and hold onto them well when lifting to dispose of them. The Long Handed Leaf Grabber is made from lightweight steel and has soft foam handles making it comfortable to use even after prolonged periods of using it. We've included a mix of both leaf grabber designs in our roundup so you can find a suitable match for your needs and outdoor space. This leaf grabber is made of tubular powder-coated steel for the handles and the same colour plastic for the blades.

If you’ve visualised this, then you might have realised the downside to these hand rakes – you still have to bend down, unlike with the other grabbers I review and personally use.

If you have smaller gardens, then I would probably recommend just going with the Darlac leaf grabber and saving some money. Unlike the other leaf grabbers in my review, the Orientools Leaf Grabber Hand Rake is a hand tool that you wear on your hands. They’re not very deep though, so don’t expect the utility of a rake, The blades are slightly curved to help them hold all that you pick up. Thanks to the adjustable handles, they'll fit a range of hands sizes and their polycarbonate material means they're lightweight and easy to clean. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. While many of the blades have some semblance of teeth on their front edge or a kind of serrated edge, it’s not usually enough to pull the leaves into a pile.

If you would prefer a more traditional method of collecting leaves, opt for an aluminium garden rake, as these will be lightweight and the least straining. The Clear N Collect Multi-Purpose Garden Leaf Rake Grabber/Collector (also in this review) is a new type of leaf grabber that adds raking to the usual leaf collection process. These leaf grabbers are designed so that you don’t have to bend over during the leaf-collecting process. For all wood handled tools apply a light coating of boiled linseed oil to help prevent the wood from drying out and cracking. We’re proud to supply tip-top products from trusted brands, such as Westland and Taylors, with compost, bark, potting mix, and manure for all your gardening and landscaping needs.

Sometimes, these glove grabbers are so large that you don’t have to bend down far to pick up the leaves. With no bending needed and a lightweight, tubular steel frame with soft foam handles, you can tidy up your garden in no time with minimal effort. This model features moulded grip handles for added comfort and they'd work particularly well for long hedge trimmings. The tough polypropylene blades make light work of leaves and grass cuttings and the heavy duty steel handles are plastic coated for a longer life. Sweeping up fallen leaves can result in a clean and tidy finish, but the process itself can be long, boring and hard work.

Keeping our lawns and paths clear of leaves and garden debris can become a gruelling task, particularly in the autumn months. These simple yet smart horticultural essentials are invaluable when it comes to clearing large volumes of grass cuttings, leaves and garden waste. I usually collect the leaves in a large ton builder bag, so using a leaf grabber makes collecting the leaves easier and is much better on my back. In particular, a long-handled leaf grabber or leaf collector like my Clear N Collect Leaf Rake Grabber, which I think is one of the best leaf grabbers. For more gardening tools, take a look at the best garden shears for trimming grass, shrubs and bushes, or our favourite lawn scarifiers. The latter are more suited to those with bad backs, as you can pick up garden waste without bending over.
